DID YOU KNOW!?
If you take the time to read your instruction book that came with your regulator, you will see that it requires yearly servicing for the warranty to remain valid. It is recommended that your regulator be serviced yearly anyway. A simple rule of thumb for servicing:

  1. Once a year or
  2. Every 100 dives
  3. If it begins to lose performance or develops leaks
Some regulators such as the Mares Abyss, Poseidon XSteam, Scubapro Titanium MK25 require servicing every 2 years.

C&J Divers Scuba 2000 is a factory authorized repair center for Dacor, Mares, Scubapro, Tusa, International Divers Inc., Ocean Edge/Ocean Reef, Poseidon, Aqualung, Ocean Master, Oceanic, Apeks, IST, Scubamax, XS Scuba, Sherwood, Genisis, Diverite and many others. The normal turn around time is usually 48hrs unless parts need to be ordered. Parts usually take 5-7 days to arrive at our dive center. Some of the older regulators need to be sent back to the manufacturor for servicing. We'll be happy to provide you with all the information you need to make that happen.

At C&J Divers Scuba 2000, we have a 10 step Regulator repair process:

  1. We inspect the regulator in your presence to determine what problems there are if any.
  2. The 1st and 2nd stages are disassembled.
  3. THe metal parts are placed in an ultrasonic cleaner and solution for cleaning.
  4. All other parts are cleaned with a mild soapy solution.
  5. All parts are cleaned and polished.
  6. All parts go through a detailed inspection.
  7. All new parts are inspected.
  8. All o-rings, filters, and seats are replaced.
  9. The 1st and 2nd stages are assembled and tested.
  10. Warranty and inspection paperwork is filled out.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

BCD
After diving, rinse the inside of your bcd with warm soapy water and then a mild chlorine and water solution to disinfect it. Wash the outside in warm soapy water. Using WARM soapy water will disolve any salt residue if you have been in the ocean.

REGULATOR
Soak your regulator as soon as possible in warm soapy water for about 3 hours to remove salt and mineral deposits. Do not depress your purge button or water will enter the inside of your second stage and cause corrosion.

WETSUITS AND OTHER NEOPRENE PRODUCTS
wash in warm soapy water and then lubricate the zipper.

KNIVES AND OTHER METAL PARTS
If you don't clean and lubricate them, they will rust.
