CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

1. Attend class regularly
2. Be on time
3. Suit out in required dress
4. Pass written examinations
5. Meet all performance requirements

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS (students must furnish their own equipment as indicated below)

1. dive watch
2. Neoprene rubber boots ( Open Water and Advanced Course )
3. Mask, snorkel, fins ( Advanced course only)
4. Wetsuit (Advanced course only)

GRADE COMPUTATION:
Performance Requirements = 50%
Written Examinations = 50%


ATTENDANCE, ABSENCES, AND TARDIES:

• There are no penalties for two absences
• Five points will be deducted from your final grade for three absences
• An additional ten point deduction for four absences
• More than four absences warrants withdrawal from the course
• Two point deducted for each tardy
• MAKE UP CLASSES CAN ONLY BE ARRANGED WITH THE COURSE DIRECTOR

THE NATURE OF THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES 100% ATTENDANCE, MEANING THAT NO INSTRUCTION CAN BE MISSED. THEREFORE, MAKEUP CLASSES ARE REQUIRED FOR MISSED TRAINING AND COMPLETION OF ALL OPEN WATER DIVES IN ORDER TO CERTIFY AS AN OPEN WATER, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DIVER / ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER / RESCUE DIVER / DIVEMASTER. MAKE UP CLASSES DO NOT NEGATE POINT PENALTIES FOR TARDIES OR ABSENCES. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT PROPER DOCUMENTATION IS PROVIDED FOR AN ABSENCE TO BE EXCUSED.

CLASS ATTIRE:

• casual attire for classroom
• Swimsuit
• T-shirt, rash guard, or wetsuit
• Neoprene rubber boots ( available at C&J Divers Scuba )
• Towel

MEDICAL:
During the enrollment process a medical questionnaire will be filled out by the student. If any questions are answered “YES”, a physicians release must be obtained prior to any in water activities.
